Poor neglected blog!!

It's not because I've NOT been busy because I have. LOL We had parent/teacher conferences last week. The kids are doing so well in school. We are really proud of them. And its good to hear that Miss Emma LOVES school. Very enthusiastic about it! I hope she stays that way. hehe

Last weekend, my mom, sister, and I went on a short little weekend trip. Yes I said short because that is what it was, too short but we had so much fun! We are planning to make this a yearly thing for us. We went to Weston, Missouri. Its a little town of about 1600 people with lots of antiques, vineyards, apple farms, and wineries and lets not forget LOTS of hills. We stayed at this adorable little bed and breakfast called Laurel Brooke farms. It had an antique, civil war theme. I loved all the touches they did on this place!

Sorry for the photo overload but I just wanted to share with you the beauty of our weekend!

I just have to say praise God for all the blessings he gives us!

I just have to share this layout with you but let me tell you a little about it. Samuel has always loved dressing up. He's been my boy that loves to wear preppy, button up shirts, shirts and ties, they whole bit. Well he's been begging me for some time to buy him a suit. Last week, I decided to go check out the Good Will and see what I could find. There's no way I am gonna pay 40+ dollars for a suit that he will not be able to wear very long. Anyway, it only took me hitting 2 stores and BAM there it was! A small houndstooth checked double breasted jacket! I felt like I hit a gold mine and was so anxious for Sam to get home that day. Boy you should have seen his face! It was like Christmas to him. LOL Anyway, he finally got to wear his jacket sunday to church and he wore it proud! So, here's my layout of my Sharp Dressed Man!!

I decided at the last minute to tryout of the DT at A Million Memories.
It is such a great community!! I'm so excited that Michelle asked me to join the team. I sooo need a change of pace. I loved the teams I was on before but needed to move on. I can't wait to get started!! Everyone is so super nice. Oh and by the way, make sure you go check out Kimmi's Class:

The kids started school last week. They are LOVING it!! I am enjoying spending the afternoons with just Emma and I. Yesterday I surprised her and bought burgers and went to the park to eat and play. Yep, forgot my camera! Shame on me! I was so funny because we were swarmed by a flock of 30 geese. They were wanting our food! Kinda freaked Emma out though. We had a blast!

Samuel is always a good sport when it comes to taking quick snaps for my blog! I love the look on his face for this one that I just changed it to. I told him to make a funny face and this is what I got. He's such a funny guy!! Gotta love him.

School starts in a little over one week. I think the kids are ready to go back. Yep me too! WE are so excited because Emma will have the same teacher that Sam had last year. We just love her!

I snapped this photo today of Emma. Not sure whether she's bored, playing, or what. I just thought it was funny. She was sitting in the middle of the living room watching TV. Yep I have been away from this thing for a bit. Last weekend I had my 20th class reunion. I only went to the first night. I was nice seeing a few people that I had wondered where the heck they went. Alot of people are still around and imagine that, I just don't see. All in all, it was fun.

Please continue to pray for Erika. Being out on her own now and no job has got to suck but you know, I just am not chasing her anymore. I love her, will pray for her, and that's about all I can do.

Kids will be starting school in 2 weeks? DID YOU HEAR THAT? YES that was me squealing for joy! They are so bored and ready. Emma especially needs back to that structure. LOL Can you tell she's the thorn in my side lately? She is just contantly naughty. Into everything, doesn't listen. Typical I know, but she is ready for Kindergarten and so am I. Sam is the one I will have a hard time dealing with. He's going to be going to 1st grade, ALL DAY! My baby boy is growing up. He doesn't always like to to call him that either. hehe He catches me looking at him all the time. I just can't believe how grown up he is getting. And Trevor? WOW big bad 8th grader. Ruler of the school! I told him to enjoy it now because next year he will be the freshman pee-on. LOL What fun years huh?

Ok all, this is CLASSIC EMMA! The child of a photographer! She hates me I tell ya! LOL This is what she gives me most of the time, even if I bribe and beg. Ok so I decided to play with a picture in photoshop and try and familiarize myself with textures. I found this picture of one of my roses from a couple years ago. Nevermind it was diseased but I thought it turned out good. I ran Jess' retro photo over it and played with the layers and then added the texture. Here it is:

Its been a long day! Drove out to my parents house to see my grandpa who was in town. Was good to see him. I hadn't seen him in 2 years. He's 84 years young and just as ornery as ever! Gotta love that about him. The kids didn't last long. My parents live in a small home with not much to keep them occupied so we didn't stay long. This evening Emma and Sam let me snap a few of them. I love that they are so close in age and close to each other. They aren't afraid to show their love or HATE for each other. Thank goodness I caught the LOVE. LOL

Emma was being such a turd. Yes I said TURD. That is what she is when she isn't cooperating for me. I even bribed her with gum. Sheesh!

The Hubby is on vacation and him and the boys have a project they

Have I told you I HATE the heat?? We just got back from camping over the weekend and the first 2 days were beautiful but then it decided to get HOT. I was over the camping thing after that. LOL Darn it, it makes me grouchy! I am such a bad photographer. Didn't take one stinkin' picture over the weekend either. What's wrong with me? LOL

Well decided to cut costs on my blog and switch back to blogger. Its here so I mind as well use it!

We are having Revival at church this week and BOY does it feel good! I seriously needed some reviving. I felt like I was getting stagnant in my walk. This sure is helping. Thank you God! The Revival is a week long event that we've involved 6 different churches besides our own. Last night was our Pastor's turn to preach and boy was he on fire! Love that man!

We have a new addition! His name is JJ and he is just the sweetest! I will leave you with some of his first pictures.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Well official ON the 25th. Don't like it one bit though. Being that it's my 38th, it puts me wayyy too close to the "bleeping" 4 0! uhhhhg I think I will just skip that day! GOODBYE RIGHT ONE...HELLO RUBBY LOVE!

Its a sad sad day. Sam has had his fleece blanket, named "Right one" by him, since he was 8 months old. He is now almost 6 and "Right one" has fallen to the wayside. What is funny is he has always had this sensory thing, where he has to be rubbing soft things. He points these things out to me ALL the time. I mean, he's even pointed out that ear lobes are soft. LOL Anyway, he named his blanket right one because there was one specific fringe that was his go-to. He had that sucker rubbed paper thin I tell ya. Not too long ago he came and showed me, with a smile on his face, that he had cut "Right one" off of his blanket. Now you know that on the 6 year level, he was thinking that by cutting it off he could have "Right one" with him ALL the time but wasn't thinking that it was something very FINAL. My reaction was of shock! I said SAMUEL what have you done. Well he instantly started crying. I felt so bad. He said, "you are mad". I said no, I was just sad for him. Well right one was lost not too long after that so we had to find something that would be a good replacement. Since he's been noticing soft things lately I decided to bring him home this little puppy that was big enough to tote around everywhere. So WELCOME RUBBY LOVE!! OHH and forgot to add...he's chosen Rubby's tail to be the soft thing to rub! LOL

Took a few days off because I was busy with a sick little girl. Emma had a high fever(sometimes getting as high as 104)for almost 5 days. Now she's coughing up all that nasty crud. We ended up taking her to the ER saturday night and they said she had Bronchiolitis. Anyway, think we are on the mend thank goodness.

So this week is words? Man, I had a hard time doing this one. I normally don't take pictures of inanimate objects but I am gonna work on it, seeing how my other subjects have learned to RUN! LOL

My word for today really hits home. I need this little reminder constantly!! Until tomorrow....

Ok I need new subjects! No one wants me to photography them. Even the dogs run! LOL If anyone has any suggestions on what my next lens should be, I would LOVE some input! I have the Sony Apha A100. The lenses I have right now are my kit lens 18-70, 50mm 1.7 and 75-300 zoom lens. I seriously need something I can use in low light but can also use out side. See I'm clueless. Anyway, any suggestions would be great! So I was able to get a COUPLE of pics out of Emma today. No rhyme nor reason for this one. I just thought it was a great angle. I ran Jess's White Chocolate bnw action over it and sharpened.

Oops missed a day! No worries!
We were able to get outside today!! Just for a little while. It was sunny but still chilly. Emma didn't stay out too long. It amazes me what my boys will endure though for the love of playing. Well here's my POTD for today! I am testing out Jess's new actions that are debuting on monday!!! They are so yummy!! I recommend them to anyone!

I used my 18-70mm lens ISO200 f/6.3 ---oh and I used Color Me Happy on the first one and Retro Vintage on the second.

I took pictures of my friends daughters wedding reception and when the girls were getting ready. I told her I just wasn't wanting to do the wedding. So she hired someone to do the wedding itself. Anyway, I am still going through the pictures. This one was taken when the girls were getting ready. I realized afterwards my white balance was off but thank goodness for PS. Samuel had his Thanksgiving Play and Feast today at school. I snapped
this one of him. Not anything technically perfect but I love it just

Did ya hear? Scraphappykt is back up!! They are still working out the kinks but so glad they got her back up! Make sure you check out the Creative Imagination contest going on through the whole month of October.

I went to the pumpkin patch today with Emma and her pre-K class. She has been so excited for this day to come. Not only to go to the pumpkin patch but to be able to ride the bus for the very first time. She loved it!.

Erika came home the other day to tell me that she had brought her grades up to passing. She's pretty proud of herself and so are we. I am so glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel FINALLY! She's doing so well. She is working now at Party City and paying for her court fines etc and got herself a cell phone. Learning some responsibility. A great life lesson!

The other kids are doing fine. Can't believe its the end of the first 9 weeks already.
